Cami Fredericks

Cami Fredericks

Director of Garden Education

Mx. Cami is a grower, artist, and dreamer. The natural world has been their greatest teacher – especially the majestic Andean mountains that gave them life and the New York creeks and forests that held them in their childhood. They discovered their life’s mission in liberatory garden-based education at Ohio State University, where they earned a BS in Environmental Policy, and later at Boston College where they earned a MEd in Secondary Biology Education as a Donovan Scholar. Their farming and teaching journey has taken them to Latin America to teach at the college level as a Fulbright Scholar, a flower farm in Michigan, school gardens in Chicago, and a permaculture farm in Mexico.

Mx. Cami started their journey at Epiphany School in 2022 as a science and garden teaching fellow. Today they dream, create, and direct the Garden Education Program which integrates garden learning into all facets of Epiphany School; from early childhood education to graduate employment. They deeply believe in food sovereignty as a form of liberation in the face of climate crisis, which guides their pedagogical approach of passing on ancestral teachings of growing vegetables, fruits, and healing herbs.

Ash Inglis

Ash Inglis

6th Grade Teacher and Director of Gardens and Sustainability

Mx. Inglis knew they wanted to be a teacher by the time they were 10 years old but always wondered how they would combine their love of working with younger children and their deep desire to be outside working with plants. In college, they spent their academic years studying history and literature at Harvard while mentoring youth and learning about education… and they spent their summers covered in soil, landscaping or farming. They came to Epiphany in 2015 and love working here because they’ve had the opportunity to combine their passion for teaching with their passion for gardening. In addition to teaching 8th grade social studies, they direct the garden program for both the middle school and the early learning center.
